Over the next five years, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) plans to hire more than 4,000 air traffic controllers. Those certified professionals can bring home a six-figure income. The application window starts today, and the FAA hopes more young minorities will apply. Wayne Hubbard is a National Traffic Management Officer for the FAA and started with the agency in 2008. He hopes young diverse talents will consider a role with the agency. According to the FAA, more than 80% of the controllers are male. Only 10% of Hispanics are controllers, while only 7% of those in the role are Black.
