7:49Now Playing“Shark Tank” executive producer Barbara Corcoran is back with Shannon LaNier on “Start Your Day.” The pair discuss a free webinar series for small business owners struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Black business ownership declined between February and April 2020, which was the largest among any ethnic group. “Whether it’s a Black owned business or a white owned business, business owners have an enormous struggle on their hands,” said Corcoran. “And with the shifting landscape, so many businesses don’t do well.” Corcoran says her webinar series intends to give practical tips on what you can change in your business to survive and thrive, something that wasn’t learned prior to COVID-19 and its Delta variant. Technology plays a big role in making sure your business is successful, and it’s important to invest in the right products.
For businesses facing a staff shortage, Corcoran says become more creative on the recruiting process and put yourself in the shoes of potential applicants. In case you’re wondering, consumers’ needs, desires and expectations have “totally changed,” and now is a “great time” to start a business.
All this and more on “Start Your Day.”
