1:41Now PlayingLouis Vuitton’s first ever Black artistic director and the founder of his own brand, “Off-White,” Virgil Abloh, died on Nov. 28 in Chicago, Illinois at the age of 41.
He was privately battling an aggressive and rare form of cancer since 2019 called cardiac angiosarcoma, a cancer in which a tumor forms in the heart.
He released rug designs with IKEA, produced water bottles with Evian and designed an art concept car with Mercedes Benz. Abloh also partnered with Nike to release sneakers. In 2010, he became the creative director for Kanye West’s design agency, “Donda.”
