6:33Now PlayingJury selection begins Tuesday in the trial of former police officer Kim Potter, charged in the fatal shooting of Daunte Wright, a young Black man, in April.
Potter, a 26-year police department veteran, was conducting a traffic stop on Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. The shooting took place not far from where George Floyd was killed and during Derek Chauvin's murder trial. "Start Your Day" host Mike Hill says the traffic stop led to an attempted arrest for an outstanding warrant. BNC chief legal analyst Laura McNeal joins Hill to discuss what's transpired thus far and how she felt after hearing the news as she was covering Chauvin's trial.
