BNC chief medical editor Corey Hébert joins “Start Your Day” host Mike Hill for all the details on the variant that is currently putting the world on edge. Hébert says the COVID-19 vaccine will be effective against any strain, including Omicron, but the question lies in just how powerful it will be. Recent data from Israel does show; however, they have a high vaccination rate and have been able to isolate and see that the vaccines are holding up “pretty well” against the latest strain. As far as people who are blaming South Africa, Hébert says the country did the world a favor by speaking up.
