Dec 8, 20214:08Now PlayingOpening statements are set to begin in the trial for former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter.
Potter is facing manslaughter charges after shooting and killing 20-year-old Black man Daunte Wright in the chest during a traffic stop in April. She alleges she meant to grab her Taser and not her gun during the interaction. Sharon Reed and Mike Hill, hosts of "Start Your Day," discuss the trial, the jury's racial makeup and the outcome they hope to see. Reed says prosecutors must humanize Daunte Wright because of the way Potter is being portrayed.
