Dec 8, 20216:56Now PlayingDecember is HIV/AIDS Awareness Month and according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, approximately 1.2 million people in the country live with HIV.
The AIDS Healthcare Foundation was created 35 years ago with the goal of ridding the world of HIV.
Since then, it’s become the largest non-profit provider of HIV/AIDS medical care on the globe as it offers services that range from advocacy and prevention to treatment of the virus. The foundation’s work has reached over a million people in more than 40 countries.
W. Imara Canady, national director for communication and community engagement at the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, joins Marc Lamont Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss.
