7:47Now PlayingOn Jan. 18, a new bill that would criminalize public schools and private businesses in Florida that makes anyone feel uncomfortable in lessons or trainings about discrimination and the country’s history, passed a key state Senate committee in Florida.

The bill is backed by none other than Gov. Ron DeSantis and draws inspiration from the “Stop W.O.K.E. Act” he proposed last month, a takedown of “both corporate wokeness and critical race theory.”
Florida state Sen. Shevrin Jones joins Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss the bill.
