Arrest in Roselle Park

Incident in Roselle Park

Around 8:55 PM on June 30, 2024, Patrolmen Timothy Donovan, Steven Martinez, Jordan Barham, and Christopher Marlow with the Westfield Police Department responded to Adams Tavern at 115 Elm Street on a report of a disorderly female who was heavily intoxicated. They made contact with Lauren Mullins, who already had multiple arrests for disorderly conduct. The officers attempted to arrange for her transport back to her residence in Roselle Park, but she started acting belligerent and ran into the street.

Sergeant Dennis DaSilva arrived on scene shortly afterwards. It was determined that Lauren was going to be placed under arrest and involuntarily transported to the hospital given her extent of intoxication and risks to her well-being. She was handcuffed and strapped to the gurney for her safety. First responders with Union County Ambulance #5385 transported Lauren to RWJ University Hospital in Rahway. She was turned over to the care of Emergency Room staff and they later mailed her a summons for Disorderly Conduct (2C:33-2A).

Lauren’s other arrests include the following instances:

-Aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer in Hoboken, NJ on January 31, 2025

-Aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer in Roselle Park, NJ on January 19, 2025

-Aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer in Roselle Park, NJ on December 15, 2024

-Disorderly Conduct in Garwood, New Jersey on October 24, 2024

-Aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer in Roselle Park, NJ on January 2, 2023

-Disorderly Conduct in Belmar, New Jersey on July 26, 2022

On March 21, 2025, Lauren struck 73-year-old Daniel O’Neil in Cambridge, Massachusetts while she was driving under the influence. Daniel passed away shortly after he was struck by her vehicle. As of May 23, 2025, records indicate that Lauren is currently being held at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution – Framingham. She is currently facing charges for motor vehicle homicide following that incident.

We are in compliance with YouTube's Fair Use Policy because we edit several long clips into a concise story. This is similar to other law enforcement channels on YouTube. All videos and case documents were obtained pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq. (P.L. 2024, c.16). Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.

The New Jersey Supreme Court has previously affirmed in Salzano v. North Jersey Media Group, 993 A.2d 778 (2010) that “The fair-report privilege reflects the judgment that the need, in a self-governing society, for free-flowing information about matters of public interest outweighs concerns over the uncompensated injury to a person's reputation.” This video advances a compelling public interest. The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
