DoorDash Driver Gets Arrested for her FOURTH DWI

On June 6, 2025 around 8:30 PM, Patrolman Andrew White with the Little Silver Police Department observed a black 2004 Nissan Maxima being driven without headlights on Rumson Road. He initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver of the Nissan, who was identified as Allison McKnight. As he was speaking with Allison, he observed indicators of impairment. Allison told the officer that she was going to make a delivery for DoorDash. Based on his suspicion of impairment, he eventually asked Allison to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises.

Patrolman White started with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Allison failed to touch heel-to-toe on each step, took an incorrect number of steps, and turned improperly. The final exercise was the One Leg Stand test. During the One Leg Stand test, Allison failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and displayed a lack of balance.

Based on her indicators of impairment, her admission to consuming alcohol earlier that afternoon, her prior history of DWIs, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Allison was placed under arrest for operating under the influence. Her vehicle was impounded by for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John’s Law.

Patrolman White transported her to the Little Silver Police Department for further processing. The Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators was read to her and she agreed to submit breath samples. Following a 20-minute observation, she submitted breath samples. Her Alcotest results indicated a BAC level of 0.067%. Once they finished processing her and generated her tickets, Allison was eventually released to her son pending her court appearance after he signed the Potential Liability Warning on Allison’s behalf.

Patrolman White issued her the following citations:

-Operating under the influence (39:4-50)

-Reckless driving (39:4-96)

-Careless Driving (39:4-97)

-Failure to use lighted lamps when required (39:3-47A)

Court records indicate that Allison has previously been arrested for DWIs on the following dates:

1) Middletown Township, New Jersey on January 11, 2024

2) Oceanport, New Jersey on September 1, 2012

3) Tinton Falls, New Jersey on June 5, 2005
