as posted by the channelAround 3:53 PM on August 29, 2025, Officers Thomas Graziano and Rose Kanan with the Hoboken Police Department responded to a report of a shoplifting at ShopRite on 900 Madison Street. They walked upstairs to the loss prevention office and immediately made contact with the alleged shoplifter, who was identified as Rene Blas. The officers were informed that she had stolen from them on multiple prior occasions, but this time she got caught.
Surveillance footage indicated that she attempted to shoplift in front of her daughter. Her daughter had already left the store after Rene was apprehended. Rene was placed under arrest for shoplifting. She was handcuffed and escorted to the patrol car. The officers transported her to the Hoboken Police Department for further processing. She was charged with shoplifting under 2C:20-11B(2) and released pending her court appearance.
