Entitled Mom Eludes Cops With her Daughter and Goes to JAIL

Future DWI Arrest

Around 9:05 AM on May 31, 2025, Patrolman Michael Mowder with the Shrewsbury Police Department observed a woman texting and driving behind the wheel of a white 2022 Jeep while he was in the vicinity of Bagel Masters (661 Broad Street). He activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver did not immediately pull over. He continued to follow the Jeep until she finally pulled over on Park Place in neighboring Red Bank.

Patrolman Mowder exited his patrol car and made contact with the driver, who was soon identified as Jillian Moccio. Her daughter was in the back seat of the vehicle, and her car seat had not been fully secured. She immediately began arguing with the officer, and he noticed contraband as soon as she opened her bag. He ordered her to give him the mushrooms and exit the vehcle, but she refused to comply with his orders.

As he proceeded to detain her, she began resisting and additional officers were called to the scene. Based on the contraband she was in possession of as well as her decision to disobey his lawful orders, Jillian was placed under arrest. A search of her vehicle incident to arrest indicated the presence of mushrooms, ecstasy, and amphetamines.

Jillian was transported to the Shrewsbury Police Department for further processing. Based on the seriousness of the charges and her prior arrests, it was determined that Jillian would be held in jail. After the officers finished processing her, Jillian was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution and lodged in the jail pending her appearance before a judge.

Patrolman Mowder issued Jillian the following traffic citations:

-Failure to secure a child under 8 in a car seat (39:3-76.2A(C))

-Operation of a motor vehicle while in possession (39:4-49.1_

-Use of hand-held wireless telephones (39:4-97.3)

Jillian was also criminally charged with the following:

-Possession of psilocybin (2C:35-10A(1))

-Possession of amphetamine (2C:35-10A(1))

-Possession of ecstasy (2C:35-10A(1))

-Obstruction (2C:29-1A)

Jillian had previously been arrested on charges of simple assault (2C:12-1A(1)) and criminal mischief (2C:17-3A(1)) in Red Bank, New Jersey on March 5, 2024

Following this incident, Jillian was later arrested again on the following occasions:

-Simple assault (2C:12-1A) in Butler, New Jersey on January 31, 2026

-Harassment (2C:33-4C) in Rumson, New Jersey on April 5, 2026

-Driving while impaired (DWI) in Middletown Township, New Jersey on May 8, 2026
