5:01Now PlayingDuring Thursday's hearing, ranking Democratic member Sen. Dianne Feinstein asked Christine Blasey Ford what impact the incident with Brett Kavanaugh had on her life.
Ford said the impact of a sexual assault incident can vary by survivor, but said personally she's had to cope with anxiety, phobia and PTSD-like symptoms.
In her opening statement, Ford said she had to explain to her husband why she wanted a second front door for their home renovation project, due to the trauma related to the incident with Kavanaugh.
Ford also described why she came forward after there was "mounting pressure" from reporters, who were calling and arriving at her classroom and outside her home.
