Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said it was a "betrayal" of the oath of office of the presidency by President Donald Trump when he "decided to try and coerce a foreign government to get involved in our presidential election ... in order to steer the results in a particular direction." Raskin's comments came in response to a question posed by Rep. Alcee L. Hastings, D-Fla., who asked if President Donald Trump violated his constitutional oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. The House committee met on Dec. 17 to determine the rules that will govern the full House vote on the articles of impeachment against Trump. The two articles charge Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The vote is slated for Dec. 18.
