During the planned six hours of debate ahead of the House impeachment vote, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, said the facts were "undisputed" in the impeachment inquiry, adding that President Donald Trump's actions "betray the nation." "The Constitution must be preserved. Our laws must be honored and respected. The bloodshed and sacrifice of fellow Americans cannot be ignored, trampled on, or rejected. And today our actions on the vote taken today must be for no personal gain or grandeur," Jackson Lee said. Trump was charged with two articles of impeachment-- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. If passed, the process will then head for a trial in the Senate, where Republicans have a majority. Earlier in the day, the House voted to approve rules for the vote.
