Sen. Mike Rounds, R-S.D., said that he would vote to acquit President Donald Trump and that impeachment should only be used as a "last resort." Rounds added that he thought the House managers' case against Trump was "rushed."
On Feb. 4, senators weighed in for a second day on how they will vote when it comes to removing the president from office. The speeches come one day before the Senate will decide whether to convict — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. After the Senate voted last week to bar new witness testimony and subpoenas for documents, Trump’s acquittal has seemed all but assured. The House of Representatives impeached Trump in December.
