Roland Martin Poorly Interviews Me On TVONE About The Procter and Gamble Race Baiting Ad

Roland Martin interviewed me on Monday, August 7th, 2017 about the Procter and Gamble “My Black Is Beautiful” ad. When I got the email to come on his show, I already knew it would be a hit-job from him. Attack the black conservative and try to take the liberal moral high-ground. Which, of course, is what it turned out to be. The only reason why I responded to the email at all (I get a lot of media requests that I do not respond to) is so I could show his audience what a black conservative is since they never get to see one. I also wanted to prove a point about how black conservatives get treated. It’s with a hatred and vitriol second to only white liberals who do their dirt behind closed doors, not out in the open like Roland Martin.

The interview begins with him trying to set the tone of me as an “angry” and “upset” person. I say from the beginning that I am not angry and upset, I just think that the ad was wrong for trying to stoke up feelings of racism to sell products. He became sort of like a defense attorney grilling a witness at that point, trying to split hairs about no products actually being in the ad. He caught me off guard by asking what the “My Black Is Beautiful” campaign is all about. I simply forgot for a moment and had to buy some time to get my thoughts together. That was the only slip-up from me during the interview. It’s like playing a game of checkers when you make one bad move and lose an early checker. Not chess because this interview was as deep as a puddle of water on a sidewalk.

It appears as if Roland Martin had the intention of trying to make me become argumentative like Umar Johnson so then he could make good TV out of it. I knew that from the beginning so I did not buy into what he was trying to do. I simply wanted to answer questions well. He did not have many questions outside of asking variations of “why are you angry” 10 times over. Roland Martin gave a bad interview and the panel were unprofessional, giggling any time I would answer without giving me an opportunity to speak to them. At the end of the day, this is what I expected and I’ve accomplished my goal of proving my point.
