1:56Now PlayingRep. Linda Sánchez (D-CA) slammed Health and Human Service Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for his anti-vaccination stances, saying he had distracted the department away from its core mission of keeping Americans healthy.
"The anti-vaccine rhetoric you ran on and the anti-vaccine actions you have taken over the last year clearly correlates with the dramatic increases…in communicable diseases," Rep. Sanchez said. "I was appalled to learn that the CDC suspended public health messaging on vaccines last February."
Secretary Kennedy disputed the California Democrat's claim, saying outbreaks of measles and other communicable diseases were a global concern.
"I think you know that you are making terrible decisions that are impacting very real lives," Rep. Sánchez said. "You suspended this pro-vaccine messaging campaign, but somehow you're spending taxpayer dollars to drink milk shirtless in a hot tub with Kid Rock. And somehow, you think that's a better public health message."
