- What is ADHD?:
Rather than focusing on a narrow aspect of ADHD, this video provides more of an overarching framework about what ADHD entails and how the mental health field currently thinks about it. ADHD is more than a checklist of symptoms, but probably relates more fundamentally to disruptions of executive functions centered in the prefrontal cortex.
ADHD symptoms exist on a spectrum of severity. It appears that at least some individuals can acquire ADHD symptoms later in life - secondary ADHD, although it is often hard to know whether these will persist, and how often they are a manifestation of another condition, such as dementia, head trauma, or long COVID.
