Videos released this week:

- Free Time is Your Enemy with ADHD

- Nicotine and ADHD

- ADHD and Jail - Why Are So Many People With ADHD in Jail?

After a 1 minute recap of each video, I’ll be available for questions on these topics or any other related to Mental Health.

- Free Time is Your Enemy with ADHD:

Many people think that ADHD medications are just to help people succeed in school or at work. But for many of those with ADHD, “Free time is your enemy.” Unstructured time without clear goals or expectations can lead to disappointments, and scheduling is an important tool to escape those.

- Nicotine and ADHD:

Nicotine is unusual among stimulating substances in that it is also usually calming. Nicotine can lead to measurable improvement in ADHD symptoms. But health risks of smoking should lead to nicotine gums, lozenges, or other safer forms of delivery.

- ADHD and Jail - Why Are So Many People With ADHD in Jail?:

People with ADHD are substantially more likely to be incarcerated, and once in prison, their ADHD makes it more likely that they will run afoul of prison rules. Identifying ADHD among inmates, and allowing access to medications, including stimulants, is likely to lead to better conformity to prison regulations.
