Women Traveling In India Claim They’ve Been Locked Inside Their Hostel Because of Coronavirus

Katherine says she and her daughter, Laila, who are both American citizens, met up in India right before that country’s Prime Minister ordered its entire population to shelter at home due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Katherine claims that she and Laila have been confined in their hostel for nearly a month, with the front gates padlocked. She says it was only after she managed to contact the police through a third-party, that she learned that she and her daughter could legally leave the hostel – with an escort – to find food and attend to other essential needs during non-curfew hours.

“What I found was that there were a lot of people out, and a lot of those people too, were Western tourists,” she says via video chat with Dr. Phil.

And later, Katherine and Laila say they were supposed to have been back home by now, but like thousands of other Americans who are traveling abroad, they can’t get a return flight to the United States. How do they say they’re coping?
