as posted by the channelWelcome back to verses of the week, a weekly segment where we explore some of the verses that stood out to me from my week's Bible study. My hope is that these videos provide you not only with insight into the teaching of the Bible, but that they would also inspire you to pick up your Bible and make Bible study a consistent habit in your life. This week we explored the book of 2 Peter, a letter written by the Apostle Peter, one of Jesus' closest followers. We got a little nerdy with this one, talking about key verses for Bibliology (aka the pretentious way to say verses that talk about the nature of the Bible) specifically 2 Peter 1:20-21 and 2 Peter 3:15-16. I challenged you to ask "what is the Bible?" as we explore the interplay of the Holy Spirit and the human authors. We also look at how Paul was considered on par with Scripture. Additionally, we mined the wonderful mystery of what it means to be partakers of the divine nature, being supplied with all we need for life and godliness, as seen in 2 Peter 1:3-8. Finally, we also discuss the Second Coming of Christ, and God's patience shown through that. I hope you enjoy this video, and as always, please reach out with any questions you might have.
