7:20Now PlayingWhat is Maundy Thursday? If you're like me, it's not a holiday you grew up hearing much about. Liturgical holidays weren't really a part of the evangelical tradition I grew up in. Maybe that's the case for you too. However, Maundy Thursday has much to teach us. Maundy Thursday shows us what it means to love and serve as a Christian because it points us back to the example of Jesus. Maundy Thursday, the Thursday before Easter commemorates the night that Jesus shared the Last Supper with his disciples, washed the disciples feet, and gave his famous mandate to love one another as he had loved them. In this video, I give you a very brief explanation of Maundy Thursday (from an Evangelical Protestant perspective) as well as encourage you to reflect on this day and embody what we see Jesus doing. All Christians are called to service. All Christians are called to love. However, that is still a bit vague. Maundy Thursday helps clarify what Christian love and service really look like.
About me:
Hey! My name is Austin, and I'm a 21 year old guy with a passion for people. I believe the good news is that God is better than we could've ever hoped, and I love sharing this message of grace and love with anyone that will listen. I'm the former Digital Marketing and Video Production Coordinator at a large, evangelical church in Frederick, MD, and I'm currently a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. When I'm not writing papers or making YouTube videos, I do freelance work as a Wedding Photographer/Videographer and social media consultant.
