Question: I am selling my flat. I have received 40% amount from my buyer. The buyer's lawyer is asking for the original documents. Once I submit it to the lawyer, they will give me a receipt, post which I will get the remaining 60% amount via RTGS online on the day of registration. Should I give my original documents to the buyer's lawyer?
Answer: Kindly do not hand over any original documents to any buyer or buyer's lawyer until time you have received 100% consideration amount towards the sale of your flat. In case inspection needs to be given of original documents, the same can be given to the buyer's lawyer at your office/residence in your presence only.
