These were the labourers who had just returned home from Kerala via Shramik Special Trains and had assembled in a chowk in Katihar demanding buses to ferry them to their respective districts as there were no arrangements regarding the transport facilities made by the government to carry them back home. As a result of inadequate facilities, these migrants started protesting outside the station and to stop the revolt, cops used lathicharged.
