Import embargo on items planned between 2020-2024. This step will make the defence sector self-reliant as well as encourage the manufacture of items on the negative list.
Srinjoy Chowdhury says the 101 items cannot be imported but instead manufactured by the Indian Defence sector. This is an opportunity for the Indian Manufacturers to make items themselves and also give them a huge boost. The items to be manufacture also include those that belong to the negative list.
