57:53Now PlayingOn the Urban Debate today, Tanvi Shukla talks about the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Gareeb Kalyan Yojna. The scheme essentially is to help the small and marginal farmers. The central government scheme says that every four months two thousand rupees will be credited in the account of the farmers. A scam in regards to this scheme has been unearthed in Tamil Nadu, a scam which was being carried on in thirteen different districts.
The farmers who were not eligible for the scheme also went ahead and applied for the scheme. A bribe was paid for it to the middlemen. A sum of 500 Rs was given to the middlemen, in order to obtain a sum of Rs 6,000. The computer operators created accounts of these not eligible people and colluded with the government officials
