Earlier, A three-judge bench led by Justice Arun Mishra had imposed a token fine of ₹ 1 on the lawyer and activist Prashant Bhushan as punishment for contempt of court case against him. The bench even asked Prashant to withdraw his statement.
Prashant in a tweet has stated, ‘My lawyer & senior colleague Rajiv Dhavan contributed 1 Re immediately after the contempt judgement today which I gratefully accepted’.
