While addressing an event at the JNU campus to unveil the statue of Swami Vivekananda, Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal said, "Students who are taking an oath to follow in Swami Vivekananda's footsteps will raise India's stature across the world." "Our PM has given us a vision and a mission," Minister Pokhriyal said. "This statue will usher in a new era in JNU's history," he added.
While quoting Swami Vivekananda's address at the University of Michigan, PM Modi said, "21st century will be India's. This statue captures that essence of India. The country is moving forward with the aim of Aatmanirbhar Bharat."
