2:46Now PlayingAfter a long discussion with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP leader JP Nadda, the Bharatiya Janata Party and its Assam allies – Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) – finalized their seat sharing formula for upcoming elections.
At the high-level meeting, which was also attended by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Assam BJP chief Ranjit Dass, AGP president and state minister Atul Bora, UPPL chief Pramod Boro, and state BJP minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Shah's residence in Delhi, a consensus was reached on "99 percent" of the seats. The BJP's Central Election Committee, which includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is set to meet on Thursday to approve the first list of candidates for the elections.
