as posted by the channelAs part of an inclusive initiative amid the pandemic, a vaccination camp has been organised in Haryana’s Gurugram for the city’s transgender people and sex workers. This is a first of its kind camp where 200 jabs have already been disposed of in this centre. To date, over 5.2%, i.e. 25,468 out of 4.87 Lakh trans persons jabbed so far. The activist’s take on the reason behind this initiative suggested that the lack of proper documentation, misinformation and digital divide among the transgender community was becoming a hurdle between them getting jabs. The CMO states that people who belong to the trans community and commercial sex workers are amongst those who are at high risk due to the nature of their work. He further shared the data of 700-800 people to be vaccinated under this category who are aimed to be vaccinated within this week itself.
