31:17Now PlayingIn today’s episode of the Urban Debate with Heena Gambhir we talk about the latest development on India’s Covid-19 vaccination drive. Recently, the central government announced that the booster dose for all above 18 years of age will be available from April 10th 2022. This comes in after a covid spike had been witnessed in several countries again, and a new coronavirus variant XE was detected in the state of Maharashtra. Reportedly, these booster doses will be available at vaccination centres across India. The free vaccination program for healthcare & frontline workers, as well as the 60-year old+ population, will also continue. As the debate focuses on whether this is the best time to open booster shots or not, Dr Subhash Salunke, Public Health Foundation of India, says 'This decision should have been taken earlier. 9 months duration is alright, even if it's reduced further it won't do any harm.'
