The Ministry said that new variants- XE and XM, have reached Gujarat, and the XM variant has reached Maharashtra. This news comes at a time when the COVID-19 cases in the country are at a low. Around 1000 cases are being reported daily from the country. What remains to be seen is how infectious the new variants are and what precautions the Government takes to impede its spread.
