The BJP-led central government has been chastised by Congress leaders and supporters, who claim that the Agnipath initiative is not useful to the country's youth and also jeopardises national security. The 'Satyagraha' was attended by Congress national secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, as well as party officials Jai Ram Ramesh, Rajiv Shukla, Sachin Pilot, Salman Khurshid, and Alka Lamba. He pleaded with the protesting teenagers not to use violence, saying, "It is their right to protest the project, but they must do so peacefully. There should be no armed conflict."
