The head of the Himachal Pradesh Congress, Pratibha Singh, claims that the Congress has retaken control in the hill state. Singh continues by saying that the BJP in power has fallen short of its promises. She discussed the political legacy of her late husband, Virbhadra Singh, a former state chief minister, as well as the understated manner of the Congress' campaign. "In five years, BJP hasn't kept a single promise. There is a lot of discontent, whether it be regarding price increases or a lack of employment," said Congress CM contender Pratibha Singh.

She further added that, "The BJP was given the opportunity to create the government, and I believe that this government was a complete failure since they were unable to accomplish very much. Development work is not opening a sub-division office here and there. Raja Virbhadra Singh opened new educational and medical facilities around the state as part of development work. Farmers and proprietors of apple orchards were completely disregarded by this regime.
