The supreme court refused to impose restrictions on the candidates for contesting election from two constituencies. This PIL filed by supreme court advocate and BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay have said there should be a ban on candidate contesting two seats simultaneously in Lok Sabha election or state assembly election saying that one seat has to be vacated. "its a waste of expenditure" said BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay. Supreme Court Chief Justice Chandrachud said these are matters of policy decision, legislative decisions and parliament is the competent authority to decide.
