Feb 2, 20232:00Now PlayingBreaking News: The Supreme Court dismissed a Petition on Thursday that seeks to limit candidates from contesting for the same seat simultaneously from more than one constituency, stating that the concerns involved are legislative in nature. DY Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India, and Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala decided against modifying the legislation that permits candidates to run in more than one seat at the same election. The court decided that because this is a matter of political democracy, Parliament should make the decision rather than the court.
