Feb 3, 20231:46Now PlayingThe state government of Karnataka has announced a one-time measure of a 50% rebate on fines in e-challans for pending traffic challans across the state. The rebate will be granted to violators only if they pay their fines by February 11, 2023. To clear the backlog of cases, the Karnataka state government offered a 50% discount on fines in e-challans. Pushpa V.S., Under Secretary, Transport Department, issued the order on Thursday. E-challan cases are those that are booked after traffic violations are captured on surveillance cameras. The state issued an order on the 50% rebate as part of a decision made at a meeting on January 27 presided over by Justice B Veerappa, executive chairman of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority.
