Feb 3, 20232:07Now PlayingThe Kerala government has placed a Social Security Cess on fuel, diesel, and liquor sales in order to raise more money for the state budget. Kerala Finance Minister K N Balagopal stated that a social security levy of $20 is proposed for each bottle of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) with an MRP between $500 and $999. Another incentive measure for the Social Security Seed Fund is proposed, which is to impose a Social Security Cess of two cents per litre on the sale of gasoline and diesel. To bridge the difference between market and fair value, the existing fair value of land would be boosted by 20%. Meanwhile, a one-time tax on electric motor taxis and electric tourist motor cabs was decreased to 5% of the purchase price in order to reduce air pollution and promote public transportation.
