Afrah Alothman is one of the Saudi-born scientists contributing to the Red Sea Decade expedition. Her work examines the tiniest creatures that live in the sea - plankton. Onboard the submersibles of OceanXplorer, Afrah has become one of the first Arab woman scientists to explore deep sea and hopes that her contribution to the expedition will ensure a healthier Red Sea for the generations that will follow her.
