Clay Travis: 8-Team College Football Playoff is Fantastic

On today's Outkick the Show, Clay Travis said Big 10 football Commissioner Jim Delaney has come out and said he is in favor of an 8-team college football playoff. This is inevitable and good news for college football.

I'm in favor of eight teams. I have been in favor of the 8 team college football playoff from the get-go.

I would be perfectly comfortable letting the college football playoff committee select the 8 best teams in America and let them roll it out.

I am not a big fan of title games. I think title games make no sense.

Clay Travis said gou play the round of eight in the second week of December because you have two weeks to recover from the conference title games.

And then in the middle of December, you play the four quarterfinal games and then you roll into the semi-finals and then the championship game.

This is the right number of teams. It is the right set-up. Clay Travis later said, "The people who argued against a playoff because they said it would hurt the overall regular season look like imbeciles now as there has never been anything better for college football than a four team playoff. The same will be true for an eight team playoff."
