“Deliberate, systematic murder, maiming, and menacing of the innocent to inspire fear in order to gain political ends… Terrorism…. Is intrinsically evil, a necessary evil, and wholly evil”. This is a definition of terrorism which is provided by Paul Johnson. In this definition, terrorism is a “dependent variable” which is the outcome of certain things. If we say that terrorism is evil, then no one but theologian or philosopher can find the remedy of it. The state in this case has no answer. We can also say that terrorist kill because there is no alternative left behind them.

The purposes of terrorism may include,

i. Terrorism is political in aims and motives

ii. Terrorism is violent in nature.

iii. Terrorism is designed to have far-reaching psychological repercussions.

iv. Terrorism is conducted by organizations with certain identities. Usually, individuals are inspired by ideological beliefs.

In the last few years, suicide terrorism has become famous across the world. One of the reasons for maybe that the terrorist organizations tend to be small in number. They also lacked sufficient resources to implement their decisions. On the other hand, the enemy of the terrorist organizations used to be strong. In this case, suicide attacks become a preferable choice for terrorist leaders. The terrorist attack on American and French troops in Lebanon in 1983 at Beirut international airport is the prime example of a suicide attack.
