What Is Ezra Klein’s Abundance Agenda?

Centrist Democrats are trying to make the Abundance Agenda a thing, but is it just the same old neoliberalism?

The idea of the Abundance Agenda was made popular by liberal podcaster Ezra Klein and a consortium of Silicon Valley think tanks. Abundance argues that the reason economic development for working people is because of pesky regulations. Not wealth hoarding by the oligarchs, or the monopolization of our industries, or wage stagnation for the working class, or our lack of robust labor unions. It’s the building regulations in blue cities that are to blame!

Now the ‘effective altruism’ crowd, another pseudo ideology largely comprised of tech and crypto bros, has glommed on to this idea of ‘abundance’. This sounds a lot like Elon Musk’s DOGE, doesn’t it? The main difference being that they are trying to operate within the system, rather than burning it to the ground. But at the end of the day, are they serving the same interests?
