Pornhub.com decided to pull some insights from their user base.
They looked at terms and traffic to gay searches and found out that the states with the highest amounts of religiosity, also coincidentally looked at the most gay porn.
Meaning that in many areas of the Bible belt, more people are looking at gay porn than anywhere else in the country.
In fact the state where the highest percentage of gay porn is being consumed is Mississippi, with 5.6%. Louisiana is at 5.4% Georgia is 5.4%
These places are where gay marriage is banned, and pornhub took at a look that as well. All in all they discovered that every single state in the South watches porn at a higher percentage than the average of states where gay marriage is legal.
A 2009 study also shows that those states also tend to consume the most straight porn, and that Utah of all places consumed the most porn with 5.4 subscriptions per 1000 home broadband users.
That same study backs up the pornhub study when it looked at the difference in porn between states that banned gay marriage and ones that didn't. Of the states that banned gay marriage, they had 11% more porn subscribers than states that don't have bans.
