2:02:54Now PlayingThe citizens of Muncie, Indiana, woke up on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, to find their "TRANSLUCENT" Mayor, Dan Ridenour, had made yet another unforced error.
Just after 9 a.m., the City of Muncie put out a notice that said:
"As of July 10th, 2024, the City of Muncie Facebook page will be used for updates only. Comments can be left on the City of Muncie Communications page, which will be updated and moderated as usual."
Shockingly, the new policy states that the City of Muncie will no longer accept comments on its Facebook page. This directly contradicts the promises Mayor Ridenour made during his campaigns in 2019 and 2023, leaving many feeling disappointed and frustrated.
After enduring four or five years of significant communication and transparency issues, along with promises that seem to evaporate into thin air, the citizens of Muncie have been left with a lingering sense of betrayal from those in the City leadership.
And now, with this sudden change in how they will "allow" citizens to communicate with them... it's just one more disappointment from the man many trusted to improve things.
IS THIS IMPROVED COMMUNICATION?
IS IT IMPROVED TRANSPARENCY?
IS IT IMPROVED ACCOUNTABILITY?
Hell no... it's NONE of those things! It's an absolute joke!
