Tech giants like Facebook, Twitter, Amazon and Google have faced a host of scrutiny in recent years for this very problem. They have far too often shrugged their shoulders and turned a blind eye to abuse and harassment hurled at people of color and have helped to spread misinformation and disinformation online.
