Dec 9, 202110:29Now PlayingThe trial of Kim Potter began in Brooklyn City, Minnesota.
She’s the former officer who killed Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old Black man during a traffic stop back in April.
Wright was shot and killed just a few miles away from the courthouse where Derek Chauvin was on trial for the murder of George Floyd. Now, that same courtroom is where Potter is being tried.
She was heard on body cam video yelling, “Taser, Taser, Taser,” moments before she shot Wright and has since claimed she grabbed her gun by mistake.
Former senior homicide prosecutor Bernarda Villalona and jury consultant Robert Swafford join Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss the first day of the trial.
All this and more on “Making the Case.”
