Dec 9, 20211:13Now PlayingThe concept of guaranteed income has become a hot topic given the increased economic pressure American families have felt due to the pandemic.
As a result, a number of guaranteed income programs have been piloted across the country.
The Georgia Resilience and Opportunity Fund will provide $850 a month to Black women in Atlanta and selected the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood for this pilot program.
For two years, a coalition of nonprofits and city officials will choose up to 650 Black women as beneficiaries.
The “In Her Hands” program will also study the financial and mental health impact unconditional cash payments will have on recipients.
