Drunk Girl Assaults Baby Daddy in Front of Daughter and Gets Arrested near Holy Family Church

Around 1:38 AM on July 3, 2025, officers with the Hazlet Township Police Department first observed what appeared to be dispute in the parking lot of the Holy Family Church (727 SR 36). They made contact with a male and female, and it seemed like there was a verbal dispute which had escalated into a physical altercation. Since this was within Union Beach, officers with the Union Beach Police Department were called to the scene to investigate further.

Officers interviewed the male driver of the vehicle, and he told them that the other woman, 24-year-old Erianna Mullinax, was the mother of their 2-year-old daughter inside the vehicle. He was driving to pick her up from work, and they got into an argument. At some point, she exited the vehicle and he pulled into the parking lot of the Holy Family Church. They continued arguing, and she eventually struck him on the forehead while in a state of intoxication. Based on the visible marks on his face, it was determined that Erianna would be placed under arrest.

Erianna was placed in the patrol car and transported by Patrolman Sweeney to the Union Beach Police Department for further processing. She was charged with simple assault (2C:12-1A(1)) and eventually released with a summons pending her court appearance.

Court records indicate that on July 16, 2025, the simple assault charge was downgraded to a disorderly persons offense (Ordinance 3-2). As a result of her plea agreement, Erianna had to pay a total of $340 in fines.

The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
