An Oregon school district passed a rule allowing "transgender" students the right to use the gendered bathroom of their choice ("transgender" is not defined in the rules). This lead to a biological female using a male locker room and male showers, even as biological males were also present.
The boys who were uncomfortable stopped using the restrooms, and even led some girls to do the same, on the fear that boys might start entering their bathrooms and watch them as they shower.
In today's legal analysis discussing government accountability, we discuss whether Title IX of the education act interferes with the transgender right movement. We also try to figure out what makes someone legitimately transgendered, so we can figure out if, say, high school boys who claim to be girls are actual tortured souls, or maybe - hear me out - might be making a false claim in the desire to see girls in various states of undress.
No .. that is a silly concern. No one would ever claim to be transgender when they are not. Especially high school boys. Who would never do something malicious in a school environment merely for the sake of being disruptive. That could never happen.
